The Conservatives have swept to power in South Ayrshire on a dramatic morning at County Buildings.
Councillor Martin Dowey has been voted in as the authority's new leader after abstentions from the Labour group - who spent the last five years supporting the SNP in power - helped see him to victory over Nationalist nominee Peter Henderson.
Independents Bob Shields and Hugh Hunter also supported Dowey's election as leader.
Maybole Tory councillor, Iain Campbell, was voted in a new Provost, while long serving Conservative Mary Kilpatrick becomes new depute Provost.
Conservative Lee Lyons was voted in as new depute leader of the council, completing a clean sweep.
The Tories had returned the most councillors at the May 5 vote but were still expected to spend another term in opposition with the SNP lining up to form a minority administration before this morning's late twist.
Labour's abstention on the votes cleared the path for the Tories to edge over the line and form their own minority leadership.
