Prominent conservative personalities are sharing negative stories related to in vitro fertilization (IVF) after President Donald Trump signed an executive order this week protecting and expanding the practice.
"PROMISES MADE. PROMISES KEPT: President Trump just signed an Executive Order to Expand Access to IVF!" press secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Tuesday when announcing the initiative. "The Order directs policy recommendations to protect IVF access and aggressively reduce out-of-pocket and health plan costs for such treatments," she added.
The decision caused backlash among a faction of Trump supporters, especially the more religious wing. In this context, conservative influencers with large followings on social media are posting negative data and stories related to IVF.
"Over 90% of children created by IVF die, either left frozen and abandoned, destroyed due to eugenics, experimented on, or miscarried. Only 7% are born. It's dreadful," said Liz Wheeler, one of them, told her million followers on X.

Colin Rugg, another prominent conservative communicator, shared a story about a woman suing after "giving birth to a black baby that wasn't hers thanks to an IVF mixup."
"The birth of my child was supposed to be the happiest moment of my life, and honestly, it was. But it was also the scariest moment of my life," said Georgia Woman Krystena Murray, according to Rugg. He added that the woman ended up giving custody of the child to the biological parents, and that the baby had no relation to her. Another user with a significant following, Lila Rose, posted the same story.

Ben Zeisloft, editor of The Republic, a conservative news outlet, has called the order "an absolutely terrible idea." "For every baby born as a result of IVF, there are several others indefinitely frozen, selectively aborted, or simply tossed in the trash," he wrote on X. "May God bless the entire Trump administration with swift repentance from this wickedness."
He also called "for Christians to make their voices heard and oppose federal efforts to expand IVF, which involve the mass discarding of preborn babies made in the image of God and therefore provokes his righteous wrath."
