Broxtowe's Conservative MP has commented for the first time on his wife's speeding fines. Darren Henry is married to Nottinghamshire's police and crime commissioner, Caroline Henry, who recently appeared in court over five different speeding offences.
The 52-year-old crime commissioner, from Giltbrook, faced a district judge at Nottingham Magistrates' Court in July after pleading guilty to speeding five times. Conservative Mrs Henry was elected to govern and scrutinise the operations of Nottinghamshire Police, including promoting certain operations and managing financing of the force. Following her sentencing many called for her resignation, but she has already stated she will be continuing her job.
