Conor McMenamin admitted the "feeling never changes" after scoring his first goal of the season in Friday night's impressive win over Crusaders.
The Glens came from behind to secure a 3-1 victory with McMenamin kick-starting his own season with a goal from the penalty spot.
The Northern Ireland international emerged with the Man of the Match honours after a blistering display at the Oval. His goal was also pivotal in giving Glentoran the lead, with Aidan Wilson adding the gloss with a late third.

"The feeling never changes," McMenamin told Glens TV when asked about scoring his goal.
"It's obviously a new season and you are just delighted to get up and running. Especially when it's a goal to put us in front after going behind in the game.
"I thought all the boys were brilliant tonight and we thoroughly deserved the victory.
"As soon as Raymond (Crangle, referee) gave the penalty I grabbed the ball straight away. I was confident I would score, and you need that.
"He should have given us one in the first half, that was a stonewall penalty."
Crusaders took the lead through Ross Clarke in the fifth minute, but Rory Donnelly levelled matters three minutes later in what was a fast start on Mersey Street.
McMenamin's penalty arrived in the 53rd minute which the winger tucked away with aplomb, with former Crusaders defender Wilson heading home Shay McCartan's free-kick in the 78th minute.
The 26-year-old scored 22 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions last season, and McMenamin admits he has set the bar high as he looks to replicate or improve on that stellar campaign.
"I obviously set the bar high last season and I just try my best to help the team as much as I can," he added.
"If that is scoring goals or helping others, so be it. But hopefully I just hep the team to win."
Meanwhile, McMenamin played down any concerns over the late injury he sustained on Friday night. The winger was left writhing in agony after Josh Robinson caught him late on the ankle.
"I just got a cut on my ankle. It was more of an impact. Hopefully it isn't as bad as I first thought," he said.
