Conor McGregor warned to stay away from "yes men" as he resumes training

Conor McGregor has been warned to stay away from "yes men" by former UFC champion Henry Cejudo after making a return to training.

The Irish star has made a return to training as he eyes redemption in the UFC after three defeats in his last four fights.

McGregor's team have come into criticism for his recent decline which has led to many fans branding them "yes men".

Cejudo has continued his jibes aimed at McGregor, tweeting: "Your hands are down and your distance is off. Stay away from them yes men. Just a tip from the [G.O.A.T.]"

This came in response to McGregor's recent footage he published on social media hitting combinations on the pads on holiday as he continues his recovery from a broken leg injury.

After Cejudo's criticism, the Irishman hit back: "The audacity of this little fat midget novice to be holding a kick pad for Cris Cyborg. Look at the state of him omg. Fat midget novice."

After making an appearance at a Bellator Event in Dublin, McGregor vehemently defended his coaching team including trainer John Kavanagh.

McGregor attracted a raft of criticism from his most recent footage including boxing star Jake Paul who claimed he could knock out the star within six rounds.

However McGregor immediately ignored the criticism instead opting to post pictures of cocktails and display his wealth.

Concern has been raised by many that McGregor will not be able to return to the pinnacle of the UFC after suffering a broken leg against Dustin Poirier.

His weight has been a clear talking point in recent weeks after the Irishman admitted he could fight at 155lbs or 170lbs after claiming he is currently walking around at 190lbs.

Several potential opponents have called for a shot at McGregor including lightweight champion Charles Oliveira who would be open to defending his title against the superstar later this year.

The 33-year-old's coach John Kavanagh is excited for his charge's return despite coming into criticism and has explained the star's recent transformation.

“You know, Conor is a very hard trainer and he’s not going to go to the gym and mess around,” Kavanagh told Fox Sports. “The only thing he could go is lift weights. So guess what? He lifted all the weights.

“In terms of am I worried in a couple months time he’ll struggle with the weight? No. He’s made weight for 15 years, never missed once. For all his boxing fights, all his MMA fights, he’s never missed his weight class once.

“What he is going to come back I believe is much stronger. Any strength and conditioning coach will tell you, it’s not massively difficult to get somebody cardio fit, but it is hard to get them strong. So he’s focusing on what he can do now, which is get strong, strong, strong.

“Who is the big question. I really don’t know. I really don’t know. Whoever it will be, I’m just excited if Conor’s excited by them.”
