Conor McGregor has been told his antics outside of the UFC are not setting a good example for young people who look up to him.
McGregor has been caught up in his fair share of troubles outside of the cage, with the most recent when he allegedly punched Italian DJ Francesco Facchinetti.
The month before that incident, McGregor got into an altercation with rapper Machine Gun Kelly at the MTV awards in which security was forced to break up.
The former two-weight champion pleaded guilty to assault in 2019 after punching an elderly man at a Dublin pub and was fined €1,000.
And former UFC veteran Diego Sanchez doesn't think McGregor is a good role model for the next generation.
“Now, I want to help the youth of the next generation. I want to be a positive, motivating inspiration and just a good influence for these kids,” Sanchez told MMA Junkie.
“You got guys out there like Conor McGregor that are giants of influences. Drinking Proper Twelve and hitting old men is not really a good influence to be spreading for the youth of the next generation.
“So I’m doing my best to do my part and that’s why I do free seminars with kids. Anybody wanna fly me out to anywhere in America in the world, wherever, I’ll do a free seminar for the kids.
"Anywhere, anytime. I’ll go make that time to work with the youth of the next generation because they’re the ones that need the most because they’re the ones that are gonna keep us going and eventually be taking care of us.”
McGregor and Sanchez had been verbally agreed to fight in 2020, but the bout never materialised due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sanchez had called for his final UFC fight to be against McGregor, something the Irishman was on board with.
"I envision myself finishing my career with a fight with Conor McGregor," Sanchez said. "That’s my dream, that’s my vision. As I build my legacy and he does what he does, I’ll be waiting if he wants to do it at the end of the road.
And McGregor replied: "To Diego Sanchez... I seen your recent comments about your final bout and I am in! After you fought Pereira, I had requested for myself and you to compete in Dublin."
Dana White told McGregor the UFC should lose their "promoters license" if they made the fight and Sanchez would lose against Jake Matthews in the final bout of his 15-year UFC career.
McGregor admitted he could still fight Sanchez in the future and labelled the veteran as "a true warrior and pioneer of this sport."
