Conor McGregor has been warned that he is currently "stuck in his own fame" as his UFC comeback continues to draw nearer.
The Irish star is plotting a successful return to the UFC later this year and has returned to boxing training in a positive injury update for fans. He will need to halt a recent decline with his comeback, though, after losing three of his last four outings in the octagon.
Former UFC featherweight champion Henry Cejudo - who has been embroiled in a feud with McGregor - believes that the Irishman is too stubborn to return to the title picture. “ Conor McGregor in 2016, he did walk that walk," Cejudo said. "But guess what man, his persona is over, he’s not that dude anymore. People know that it’s just an act and he doesn’t have that juice no more.
"To me, he’s just a dude that at one point was able to manipulate himself to world titles and people bought into it. He was able to use his hands but I think once people realise that front leg is there, people start chewing that thing up. I do believe that Conor McGregor is good in certain areas.
"But I think he’s so stubborn and around yes man. He won’t get better, he’s stuck in his own fame. That’s my two cents on Conor McTapper. I think he should fight Jake Paul, I think these two dudes are meant for each other. I think they can go on a damn honeymoon afterward too.”
Cejudo believes McGregor should fight Paul next with the YouTube star having made a one-fight deal offer to UFC president Dana White for the pair to clash in the cage. However, McGregor has been focused on his return to training despite facing some concern over his technique from fans after posting footage on social media.

McGregor and Cejudo have exchanged verbal jabs on social media in recent weeks which has likely prompted the damning assessment from the star. The American aimed a jibe at the UFC star's team, tweeting: "Your hands are down and your distance is off. Stay away from them yes men. Just a tip from the [G.O.A.T.]"
He has faced criticism alongside his team for a recent decline of form in his fighting career. But McGregor continues to be a key figure in the fighting world and promptly hit back: "The audacity of this little fat midget novice to be holding a kick pad for Cris Cyborg. Look at the state of him omg. Fat midget novice."
McGregor has had huge success in the UFC and has been a vital cog in eight of the top ten best selling pay-per-views in the promotion's history. He remains considered one of the sport's biggest superstars despite only having defeated Donald Cerrone since his boxing clash with Floyd Mayweather.
However, the 33-year-old remains uncertain about his future and has revealed that he could pursue potential clashes at both 155lbs and 170lbs when he makes his hotly-anticipated career revival.
