UFC star Conor McGregor is due to make his acting debut in a major studio film alongside Jake Gyllenhaal, according to Deadline.
The two-time UFC champion will play a role in Prime Video's reimagining of the classic ’80s action film, Road House.
According to reports, the movie will follow a former UFC fighter - played by Gyllenhaal - who takes up a job as a bouncer at a notoriously rough roadhouse in the Florida Keys. The main character soon realises that not everything is what it seems in this tropical paradise.

While it is confirmed that Gyllenhaal will play the leading role, exact details on what character McGregor will play have yet to be confirmed.
Deadline’s sources said McGregor won't be playing himself in the feature film, but rather an original character.
The Amazon Original Movie is set to go into production in the Dominican Republic later this month and will be available on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide when it is released - however there has been no indication of when that will be.
McGregor will join a cast that includes Billy Magnussen, Daniela Melchior, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Lukas Gage, Hannah Love Lanier, Travis Van Winkle, B.K. Cannon, Arturo Castro, Dominique Columbus, Beau Knapp, and Bob Menery.
It will be directed by Doug Liman with a script written by Anthony Bagarozzi & Charles Mondry.
While McGregor is no stranger to the camera, having filmed plenty of ads for his own business ventures, Road House will be his first time featuring in such a large project.
