Conor McGregor has told rival Tony Ferguson to stop blaming other people for his misfortune.
Ferguson returns to action at UFC 274 this weekend when he takes on Michael Chandler in an attempt to halt a slide of three consecutive defeats. The lightweight contender took aim at UFC president Dana White earlier this week, branding him a "drug dealer" and accusing him of preventing him from exploring options outside the promotion.
But McGregor, who previously shared a management team with his 155lb rival, took to social media to suggest Ferguson looks closer to home. "Tony Ferguson, who changes representation around four times a year, is saying it’s someone else fault he is in the position he is in," wrote the Irishman. "How many bridges do you burn before you look yourself in the mirror and say, 'Maybe it’s me that’s the issue'? God bless you pal, I’ll say a prayer."
Ferguson has not fought for almost 12 months since he was outpointed by Beneil Dariush. That defeat followed losses against current champion Charles Oliveira and title challenger Justin Gaethje who also clash on Saturday.
Ferguson's last win came against veteran Donald Cerrone in summer 2019, seven months before McGregor stopped the same opponent in what was his last victorious octagon outing. Earlier this week, Chandler had joked about having "Dana White privilege" having challenged for the title in his second fight in the promotion.

Ferguson later bristled at the suggestion, saying: "I don’t think that s*** is very funny. You do maybe. I don’t think it’s very funny. Everybody is looking at it, they’re smiling and laughing at it, but nobody’s saying s***.
“I’m the one up here with Dana Brown privilege or whatever the f*** you want to call it. I don’t think it’s very funny anymore. I don’t think you should think that’s very funny. So, I’m taking this weekend very f***ing seriously. I’ll kick this Dana White boy’s ass. Nothing personal against Chandler."
McGregor is due to make his own comeback later this year and could face the winner of Ferguson's clash with Chandler if the Irishman opts to remain at lightweight.
