Conor McGregor swigs whiskey from the bottle as star watches bare-knuckle fights

Conor McGregor sipped his Proper 12 Irish whiskey from the bottle whilst watching a bare-knuckle boxing event over the weekend.

McGregor, 34, was in attendance for BKFC 41 in Broomfield, Colorado on Saturday night as former UFC stars Mike Perry and Luke Rockhold clashed in the main event. Rockhold quit in the second round of the fight after having his teeth cracked by Perry, who remained unbeaten in bare-knuckle boxing with the win. Two of McGregor's former UFC opponents put on an action-packed fight in the co-main event as Eddie Alvarez won a split decision against Chad Mendes.

'Notorious' turned up to the 1stBank Center before BKFC champion Christine Ferea stopped Bec Rawlings to defend her flyweight title. McGregor could be seen swigging the new flavour of his whiskey, Irish Apple, whilst playing up to the fans who were cheering him on.

UFC fans have since shared their concern at the video given McGregor is preparing to make his octagon return against Michael Chandler later this year. "There is no way this dude is fighting Chandler," one user wrote. "We are supposed to believe McGregor vs Chandler is happening end of summer? Get a grip man," another added. "Yeah Chandler is really gonna KO this dude within two rounds," a third wrote.

The former two-weight UFC champion face off with Perry after his stoppage win against Rockhold and welcomed a fight against him in the future. McGregor has now doubled down on a potential bare-knuckle boxing move by insisting that he would also be open to fighting at middleweight if he steps foot in the ring.

"Call me 'slicey' bare paw. Styles make fights. As well as rulesets. As well as everything. If you are scared go to church. I was called into the bare knuckle ring last night. I fear nothing. No man that breathes air. I only fear God and abide by God and if God guides me to a professional bare knuckle fight in my time for my new world title, I do," he wrote.

"What fighting is, is a new day every day. Every fight with every person on every given day. Is different. It’s why I love it so much. It’s why I respect it so much. Fighting is different. End of. This fight took place in the 185lb division. I’ve not fought at that weight before but I can get there nicely as a refrigerator freezer. For sure. Who knows but God and I trust God."
