Conor McGregor swaps £140,000 supercar for speedboat following arrest

Conor McGregor has been seen riding a luxury jet-ski following his arrest for alleged dangerous driving in his Bentley.

The Irish star claimed he was on the way to the gym when he was pulled over by the police on Dublin's M50 by members of An Garda Siochana; the Irish police force. He was driving his £140,000 Bentley supercar which was briefly seized before later being returned.

McGregor has now posted images for fans on social media of him riding a Sea-Doo GTX jet-ski while flexing his ripped physique as he enjoys the warm weather by the coast. The UFC star has been seen in the past powering through the waves off the coast of Dun Laoghaire, Dublin.

He was arrested earlier this week after the incident and taken to Lucan Garda police station station. The 33-year-old was later charged before being released on bail with his supercar returned after briefly being taken. He will now face a court date at Blanchardstown district court next month, with any potential conviction posing the possibility of six months and a fine of €5,000 if handed the maximum punishment.

Footage emerged of McGregor being followed by the police before he later claimed that he was on his way to the gym as his recovery from injury continues.

This matched up with a statement from a spokesperson for McGregor who said: “Mr. McGregor was driving to the gym when he was stopped by Gardai for alleged road traffic violations. He passed the drug and alcohol tests taken at the station."

McGregor also took to Instagram shortly after the incident posting an image of a mug of tea and a muffin with the caption: "Tea always helps... Muffins too," alongside a laughing emoji.

A statement from Garda confirmed the arrest, explaining: "Gardaí arrested a man aged in his 30s in relation to an incident of dangerous driving in the Palmerstown area yesterday evening, Tuesday, March 22 2022. The man was taken to Lucan Garda Station where he was later charged. He has been released pending an appearance before Blanchardstown District Court at a later date."

The Irishman has been preparing to make his UFC return after breaking his leg in July last year in defeat to Dustin Poirier. He remains one of the promotion's leading superstars and has been challenged to several fights including a title shot at 155lb against champion Charles Oliveira.

Most recently McGregor has called for a shot against welterweight champion Kamaru Usman after suggesting that a return at 170lb seems more likely after previously claiming he currently weighs 190lb. Whatever option McGregor opts to take later this year, he will be eyeing a return to winning ways after losing three of his last four bouts.
