Conor McGregor sends message to fighter born without legs amid Paul McGrath Twitter spat

Conor McGregor has congratulated a fighter born without legs after the American won his first professional MMA bout.

Zion Clark defeated Eugene Murray at Gladiator Challenge: Seasons Beatings in San Diego on Saturday night.

After seeing footage of his victory, McGregor took to social media to send a message to the 25-year-old former college wrestler.

McGregor wrote: "Absolutely fascinating to hear about this man’s debut and now see it. Lighting entry on the low single. Wow! You should not connect to him in any shape or form. Frames only. Frame to strike. Fascinating! Congrats and so much respect to that man Zion Clark! Mma is the best sport!

"Can’t kick as he is grounded opponent. The only way to stop him is to develop ko ending shots mid transitions in grappling. Very few on the planet possess this skill. And to 3/4 way downward punch a jab there is just no power. Look at opponents attempt before the shot. Wild!"

After seeing McGregor's comments, Clark replied: "Appreciate the love and respect @TheNotoriousMMA this is just the start for me I’m excited to see how far I can take my fight game! I proved the doubters wrong in wrestling becoming an All American and D1 Wrestler. All respect."

McGregor's comments come as he continues his Twitter spat with football legend Paul McGrath and comedian PJ Gallagher.

McGregor said he wants to take on Gallagher and McGrath at the same time in a charity boxing match - prompting McGrath’s son to step in on his dad’s behalf.

Ex-UFC champion Conor also said former Ireland and Aston Villa defender Paul was barred from his pubs.

The MMA star took to Twitter and said: “I challenge PJ and Paul McGrath to 2 vs 1 boxing match in aid of mental health and anti-bullying organisations.”

But Paul’s son Mitch then responded and said: “Il fight in my dads place. You calling out old men your a joke lad get a grip of yourself embarrassing yourself [sic]”.

In a separate tweet, which has since been deleted, McGregor, 34, also took aim at footie legend McGrath, 63, and said: “You’re barred from all my pubs as well now.”
