Conor McGregor's teammate 'sent to sleep' by opponent in vicious first-round KO

Conor McGregor's teammate Johnny Walker was 'sent to sleep' by a vicious first round stoppage against Jamahal Hill at UFC Fight Night.

The pair clashed in a battle to cement their status in the top ten 205lbs with both Hill and Walker viewed as two of the brightest prospects in the division.

Hill delivered the knockout blow in the opening round with a brutal blow to the head that sent his opponent collapsed to the canvas out cold.

Fans claimed that Walker was 'sent to sleep' by Hill with one fan commenting : "Sweet dreams he put his a** to sleep."

Hill came into the fight with three successive stoppage victories with his last coming against Jimmy Crute in December.

He walked to the ring with an air of confidence and was able to make a fast start against Walker who was equally expectant of victory.

Walker is a teammate of McGregor after joining his SBG training team last year in a bid to get his career back on track.

He came into the fight after suffering three defeats in his last four fights- similarly to McGregor- and was swiftly sent crashing to the canvas, with Hill landing a thumping overhand hand on the left side of Walker's forehead.

His head snapped to the side and he was knocked out cold by the shot with medical staff quick to attend to the star.

Hill believes he has now answered questions of his ability and is ready to try and make a title power-play for champion Glover Texiera.

"It's time to start having a different kind of conversation, because y'all are asking the wrong questions," Hill said after the fight.

""How good am I for real? I'm ready to come for that (Texiera fight). But right now we're going to see. I'm gonna take a look at the division and see what's up.

"I'm gonna get with the head bosses and everything and see what makes sense. Just call me M.E. 'Mahal' -- Main Event 'Mahal'."
