Conor McGregor's sister Erin has opened up on joining an autism awareness group as she posted a lengthy heartfelt message on social media.
Erin has been vocal in the past of parenting a child with autism with her young son living with autism.
And Erin took to social media as she spoke about joining support groups.
She said on social media: "Not so long ago I hid away from support groups, wanting to listen but remain anonymous.
"This was part of my way of trying to deal with Harry’s diagnosis. There is no right or wrong way to deal with it, there is only your way and that’s ok.
"There felt like a very unclear road map of how or what supports we needed. I feel this is a thing for most parents. You're handed a diagnosis and it’s on your way now with so many things you must do but with no clear direction or support"
And Erin was quick to praise a number of autism support groups.
She added: "Our SLT and psychologist were so good and helped me as much as they could in what forms I was to fill in , I was one of the lucky ones.
"But still it all felt so daunting and honestly felt like a different language. All while on my knees emotional , scared and hadn’t a clue what it was going on.
"I’m going to share some info I've picked up this week, I’m by no means an expert, honestly some days I’m just trying to figure out what’s best for Harry but these groups might be of help to some parents that feel like they have entered a dark room looking for a light that they don’t even know exists."
Erin would go on to list a number of supports with the list including D12 Autism, Clondalkin Autism Parents, Family Carers Ireland and As I Am Ireland
