Conor McGregor's sister Erin says she will 'never give up fighting' for son in emotional post

Erin McGregor has given a glimpse into the challenges her son faces every day in a heartbreaking social media post.

Conor McGregor's sister has a little boy Harry, 6, who was diagnosed with sensory issues three years ago and is non-verbal. She is also mum to a teenage daughter Taylor.

Erin revealed on Instagram that she will "never give up fighting" for her son as he struggles to communicate. In the photo, Harry is wearing a seatbelt with a cover saying "'Non-verbal autism. Unlikely to respond. May resist help. Do not leave unattended. Emergency contact details inside this seatbelt cover."

Alongside a gorgeous photo of her son, the former Dancing With The Stars contestant shared a message with her fans on what life is like for parents of children with a disability. She talked about the "hidden parts" of their family life.

Erin wrote: "Harry’s seat belt cover. The things a parent of a child with a disability must consider. The things that keep us up at night. The hidden parts that you don’t "get" unless you "get it".'

"The things that money can’t buy for all the f***ers out there who have the cheek to say I know nothing because of money. I usually never say that on here but today I am because I’m tired of the disgusting disregard of empathy to any person with a disability regardless of their situation, we face enough disregard in the system.

"My child might not have a voice per say but I will never give up fighting for his rights in this world. No one should have to fight for their needs to be met especially our most vulnerable but unfortunately, they are being let down by the ones who are supposed to help them. To all the parents out there doing their best, we see you, we feel you, we hear you."

Fans gave Erin lots of support in their messages. One person wrote: "Well said our system is not fit for purpose and ye have to fight for every little thing and the only one who cares is the family of the child we have to fight for."

Another woman wrote: "He might not have a voice but he has a mind that knows his parents do the absolute best for him so be proud. What a gorgeous boy he is."

Erin's famous brother Conor posted a love heart emoji in the comments under the message, showing his support for his sister.
