Conor McGregor responds to Charles Oliveira's claim he'd beat him and Nate Diaz

Conor McGregor has fired back at Charles Oliveira after the former champion claimed he would beat him and Nate Diaz on the same night.

Oliveira was stripped of his lightweight title after missing weight for his first-round submission of Justin Gaethje at UFC 274 last weekend. With the division's belt now being vacant, 'Do Bronx' called for a fight with McGregor to crown the next champion.

"This is a message to the entire division; I am a problem for the entire division. I am the enlighted, I am the champion, this is my title and it should be here," he said. "Dana White, I don't care [who I fight next], I'm not going to choose. Hey, Conor McGregor, are you going to come back or are you going to run away?"

Oliveira has now doubled down on his call out but asked UFC boss Dana White to match him up against McGregor and his rival Diaz on the same night. Just for the record, I like to break records and I want to break another one," he wrote. “Fighting twice in same night. I can knock Conor out, and make Diaz tap. What do you think Dana White?”

McGregor wrote back to the former champion's call out: "Shut up you bum and get back to that favela and pay your piece." He previously dismissed Oliveira's original challenge by stating the weight cut to 155lbs would be too much now he is built like a "refrigerator".

McGregor returned to full training last month ahead of his comeback fight later this year. The former two-weight champion has been sidelined since breaking his tibia against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 last July.

The Irishman made an eerily-accurate prediction of Oliveira's recent win whilst telling rapper Drake to cash out the $400,000 bet he placed on Gaethje. McGregor claimed Oliveira's superior ground game would be too much for Gaethje, which proved true as 'Do Bronx' picked up his 16th submission win in the UFC.

"I think this guy [Gaethje] in the grappling exchanges is petrified, he was embarrassing the last time against your man. Unless he one-shots Charles. Even if he hits him with a shot, which Charles has shown he is susceptible to be hit with, and dropped with, what's he going to do? Is he going to fall in sloppy, there's just no way... unless he one-shots him I just don't see it," McGregor predicted.

Oliveira wanted a clash against McGregor before signing to fight Gaethje, previously stating he would fight the UFC star even if his (now vacant) lightweight belt wasn't on the line.
