Conor McGregor ranks sixth in Forbes annual Highest-Paid Athletes rich list with whopping €37.3m earnings

Conor McGregor has ranked sixth in Forbes Magazine's annual Highest-Paid Athletes rich list with mega earnings of €37.3m.

The UFC star enters the list at number six behind football stars such as Kylian Mbappe, Mohamed Salah and others nearer the top.

At the top, it's the usual suspects as Cristiano Ronaldo clinched the number one spot as he collected £43.7M away from the pitch to accompany his annual earnings of £47.6M from football. Lionel Messi was behind him with £103.3m.

McGregor hasn't fought since last year's loss against Dustin Poirier in which he sustained a broken leg, but that has not curtailed his earning power.

The Irishman is the only Mixed Martial Arts athlete to breach Forbes’ top 50 rich list.

McGregor earned £26.2M from sport, plus an additional £7.9M outside the ring, for a total of £34.1M. (€37.3m).

McGregor has been enjoying some downtime since his loss against Poirier and it is unknown when he will make his return to the octagon.

Most recently, McGregor and Dee Devlin partied with the world's social elite as they attended the Cannes Film Festival over the weekend.

The UFC star's fiancee said she was "so proud" of him as she shared photos of the couple drinking McGregor's Proper Twelve whiskey in southern France.

Dee posted on Instagram: "Proper twelve in Cannes. So proud of you babe! I’m living for every second of this unreal journey we are on together."

Replying to the post, McGregor wrote: "Dee you’re like silk gold on my arm, I am honored and proud! I love you so much, the woman of my dreams."

McGregor posed for photos with Caroline Scheufele, who is the artistic director and co-president of Chopard, the Swiss-based luxury watches and jewellery manufacturer.
