Conor McGregor has mocked Jose Aldo's X-rated response to his offer for a boxing rematch of their iconic 13-second UFC fight.
The legendary former featherweight champion was dethroned by McGregor at UFC 194 after years of needle between the pair, with the Irishman landing a knockout in the opening stages. It had appeared they had settled their feud, with both men saying complimentary things about the other in the aftermath of Aldo's retirement from the sport last year.
But after McGregor offered to box his old rival in a rematch of their showdown, Aldo was incensed, telling media members that all his old rival does is "talk s***". He also noted that McGregor is already booked for another fight inside the UFC octagon, alluding to his upcoming bout with Michael Chandler.
“Conor is a big mouth,” Aldo said at the post-fight press conference following his draw with Jeremy Stephens, in a fiery response to McGregor’s tweet which read "Me and Aldo should box". “He always talks a lot of s***. He has a scheduled fight. … Conor, shut your f*cking mouth. We were supposed to fight before in the UFC. You run, and now you still talk s***.”
McGregor took to social media to make light of the Brazilian's comments, jokingly writing: "Well ok then ahaha whatever lad I was only trying to be nice. Who p***ed in your açaí?" He then tweeted a revised version of his callout by declaring that he should actually fight Stephens, saying "Me and who the f** is that guy should box."
Stephens and McGregor had one of the most memorable moments in UFC press conference history during a press conference promoting the Irishman's November 2016 bout with Eddie Alvarez. The American attempted to get some shine from the sport's biggest star when he declared that McGregor should fight him next, only to be swiftly put down by a simple but iconic line.

After being asked who would give McGregor the hardest fight among the people on stage at the event, Stephens took the microphone and declared that it was him. "Right here, the hardest hitting, real hardest hitting 145lb [fighter] right here," he shouted. "This guy TKOs people, when I knock people out they don't f***ing move."
McGregor waved him off with a simple turn of the head before dropping the famous line "who the f*** is that guy?" Stephens attempted to regain some favour by declaring that the Irishman's "mom knows who I am," but the moment was already etched in combat sport history.
As for Aldo, the draw with Stephens on last night's Roy Jones Jr vs Anthony Pettis undercard sees him go 1-0-1 in the ring after hanging up his gloves in MMA last year. He is currently in talks for a bout with Floyd Mayweather which would be an exhibition, and could now also have the chance to rematch McGregor.
