Conor McGregor misses out on sport's top ten social media earners as payments revealed

Conor McGregor has just missed out on the top ten sporting figures who get paid the most per social media posting.

Sports data firm BonusFinder have calculated how much the biggest names across sport receive for sponsored posts and unsurprisingly, the numbers are rather gaudy.

While the debate of who is the better footballer between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo is a neverending one, there's a clear-cut winner between them in this category as Ronaldo comes in at number one.

And although his sporting credentials might be a little flimsy, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is in third with another surprise name in fourth in the shape of former Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli.

The rest of the top ten are rounded out by names you'd be more likely to guess such as Neymar, LeBron James and David Beckham.

As for The Notorious, he brings in €149,000 for every post he collaborates with a brand on.

If all that isn't ridiculous enough, YouTubers-turned-boxers Jake Paul and KSI have also cracked the top 20.

Paul’s already headlining huge events in the boxing world and KSI is restarting his journey in the squared circle, but Paul edges the battle on social media currently earning $65,993 per post compared to his British counterpart who earns $38,698.

In the golf world Paige Spinarac earns $11,814 per post, which is higher than any other professional golfer including the likes of Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth.
