Conor McGregor makes 'proposal' to gardai in dangerous driving case as he appears before court in Dublin

Conor McGregor's legal team have made a "proposal" to gardai in his dangerous driving case as he appeared before a court this morning.

The 34-year-old UFC star was back in Blanchardstown District Court. McGregor could be seen fist-pumping fans and posing for pictures after his appearance.

The motoring charges the fighter is accused of relate to alleged offences on March 22 this year, when he was stopped and arrested by gardai on the N4/M50 interchange in Palmerstown and on the Lucan road. He was driving his 191 Bentley Continental GT, worth around €170,000, at the time.

The Crumlin native - the world's highest paid athlete last year - was charged with two counts of dangerous driving. He was later hit with four further charges.

They are driving without a licence and insurance as well as failing to produce a licence and insurance within 10 days of the alleged incident. In September, McGregor was further hit with a careless driving charge.

This morning, the cage brawler arrived at the building in a Range Rover, with another jeep driving on convoy, after 11am greeting reporters and strolling into the courthouse. After 11.30am, McGregor's case was called and he moved to sit in the dock.

His barrister David Staunton told Judge David McHugh that they have instructions to make a proposal to gardai. Mr Staunton said he spoke to the prosecuting garda who now needs to consult with the Director of Public Prosecutions.

No plea was entered today and the case was put back to January 11. As he left the court building, McGregor said: "All good, all good. Lovely day, great to be back."
