But here he was content with showing off his impressive physique as he bounced around shadow boxing in a short video filmed by fiancée Dee Devlin.
The 34-year-old reflected on being given the opportunity to make his acting bow as he couldn't get over what handy work it is.
He said: "Whole crew in tow, the loves of my life! My other two kids are at the beach with Nanny Mandy.
"God bless Hollywood I can’t believe they paying me for this. #rockbread #firstmovie #roadhouse"
McGregor arrived in the Dominican Republic on Friday as he also chronicled his journey from Dublin on Instagram.
True to form, he flew off in style on his own private jet.
He's even shared a behind-the-scenes snap from filming which saw him taking instructions from a crew member.
Although no major details have been revealed concerning his role in the film, it is reported it will not be a cameo appearance and that his character will have a significant amount of screen time.
However, while McGregor is clearly enjoying dipping his toe into the Hollywood lifestyle he has maintained that he will be returning to the fight game once this project wraps.
Having not gotten back to full MMA sparring due to a setback in his recovery from his broken leg, it will likely be well into 2023 before fans see him grace the octagon again.
