Conor McGregor impressed with ‘numero uno’ Brandon Moreno’s UFC 277 win

Conor McGregor was inspired by what he saw Saturday night.

McGregor, a former UFC two-division champion, enjoyed the co-main event of UFC 277 in Dallas. In an interim flyweight championship bout, former champion Brandon Moreno picked up gold once again, stopping Kai Kara-France with a nasty body kick in the third round.

McGregor very much liked what he saw from not only Moreno, but also Kara-France.

“That Mexican is a little animal of a thing, and so is the little New Zealander also,” McGregor said on Twitter audio. “Two goers. Two proper goers from completely different parts of the world. Two different people but two of the same in their own way.

“It was great to watch that bout, a really great bout. And the little Mexican is some boy. You have to give it to him, walking into the arena with the chick on the arm. Numero uno. Campeón, campeón. (No. 1. Champion, champion.)

“A proper Mexican entrance and then a proper Mexican fight. Then the toughness, and he just put on a show. It was a great card. … Viva la Mexico, c*bron. Viva la Mexico. Let’s go, baby. Congrats to the Mexicans.”

With the win, Moreno bounced back from a title loss to Figueiredo at UFC 270 in January. He also took home an interim title for the first time. Since he rejoined the UFC in 2019, Moreno has compiled a 5-1-2 record with victories over Figueiredo, Jussier Formiga, Brandon Royval, and two over Kara-France.

Moreno and Kara-France first competed against each other at UFC 245 in December 2019. Moreno won by unanimous decision.
