Conor McGregor heaps praise on Ricardo Ramos after stunning knockout and backs Brazilian to win belt he previously held

Conor McGregor is backing Ricardo Ramos to become a UFC champion.

The Brazilian, who is managed by the same agency as McGregor, recorded a stunning knockout victory over Danny Chavez on Saturday night after landing a sensational spinning elbow.

The Notorious was impressed with what he saw and believes Costa can go on to become the UFC's featherweught champion - a belt McGregor previously held after he knocked out Jose Aldo in 13 seconds back in 2015.

Sharing a video of the knockout on Instagram, McGregor wrote: "Paradigm Sports Own!! @ricardoramosmma! What an incredibly exciting fighter this Brazilian 145lber is. Incredible excitement towards the ufc world title. My former division. My former belt. Congrats tonight!"

The knockout earned Ramos a Performance of the Night bonus worth around $50,000.

On the knockout, which was the second time he won via a spinning elbow KO, Ramos said: “You repeat, repeat, sometimes you connect, sometimes you don’t. But you repeat the position 10,000 times, one day you’ll get it in the fight and today I got it one more time to show that it’s not lucky."
