Conor McGregor gets emotional as he opens up on 'tough times' recovering from horror leg break

Conor McGregor got emotional as he spoke about the injury hell that kept him out of UFC action for two years.

The UFC's biggest start last fought in July 2021 where he suffered a broken leg that has seen him sidelined ever since.

McGregor went under the knife for surgery on his leg but will return to face Michael Chandler later this year.

And speaking to Barstool's Robbie Fox on the My Mom's Basement podcast, McGregor opened up about his injury hell.

McGregor said: "What do I hope for in this world? I hope for 100 more fights. I'm working for consistency. I've been in this on-off nonsense for too long via fight politics, via injuries, vis just life. I'm excited and hopeful I can get a nice consecutive run of bouts".

And when asked about his horror injury, McGregor said: "It was very tough. Very tough times and very unsure times.

"It's a tough one, there are no two ways about it. I'm blessed I had the correct care and attention to it medically, I had the best doctors and surgeons.

"I got it back, thank god. And I'm back better than ever. I'm dropping guys with the back shot".
