Conor McGregor fans question whether UFC star's latest video is a "deep fake"

Fans think Conor McGregor looks like a "mad man" after footage emerged of him shadowboxing ahead of his UFC return.

McGregor, 34, will look for his first UFC win in over three years when he faces Michael Chandler after coaching against his rival on season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter. 'Notorious' has just landed in Las Vegas as filming for the UFC's reality TV show is set to get underway, with the season airing from May until August.

The former two-weight champion seemed to be in good spirits as he walked into the UFC's Apex facility in Sin City. Fans had mixed opinions of the brief footage that showed McGregor throwing punches as one user wrote: "Shin checking like a mad man!"

A second user commented: "Please God tell me that’s a deep fake." A third joked that McGregor's bad timing at media events has changed for the better, adding: "All I got out of this is that Conor actually showed up before Dana White. He's a changed man." A final user wrote: "Conor just has the best personality for tv. Can’t wait until this season airs."

McGregor has remained fairly quiet after his fight against Chandler was announced, but recently gave his thoughts on the matchup in an exclusive interview with Mirror Fighting . "I'm looking forward to it," McGregor said. said. "I feel good, I feel energetic, I feel ready. I'm throwing up my high kicks faster than I'm throwing out my jab, so I'm very excited to get back.

McGregor has been involved in all of the top five highest-selling events in UFC history and Chandler is confident their fight will also be a huge success on pay-per-view. "If you look at the numbers, I think two million [buys], it’s not just a possibility, I think it’s very achievable. I think what I’ve created is a level of intrigue and mystique that when I show up on fight night, all hell breaks loose and my foot is on the gas," Chandler said on The MMA Hour.
