Conor McGregor fans believe they may never see the UFC star fight again.
The Notorious has been sidelined since suffering a horror leg break in his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier last summer, but recently made a full return to MMA training.
The Notorious is involved in a number of lucrative projects outside the cage, and it was announced on Wednesday that McGregor had landed an acting role in the remake of classic film Road House alongside Hollywood actor Jake Gyllenhaal, reports The Mirror.

And fans have been quick to react to the news, with one commenting: "He's done fighting, we'll be lucky if we see him in the octagon again."
One fan agreed: "I'm convinced we will never see him in the octagon again." Another fan appeared to blame McGregor, writing: "He doesn't know what he wants along as he's drowning in money for it. He don't care, still drinking and partying but meant to be making a comeback."
A fan claimed his defeat to Poirier signalled his downfall: "So not going into fight camp I see, Dustin Poirier broke more than his leg." Another final fan called out McGregor's loyal fans: "This guy is not serious about fighting anymore, when will you Conor fans understand that?"
McGregor's exact role in the film is yet to be confirmed but it will likely take significant work, with the Dubliner likely to take a prominent part when shooting begins in the Dominican Republic later this month. McGregor is already understood to be behind schedule on his comeback trail for a UFC return, having returned to sparring later than planned.
He offered fresh hope of returning earlier than expected when he resumed kicking with his previously broken leg. However it is understood his next fight will now likely not be staged until the new year, despite a return to his gym in Ireland alongside long-term coach John Kavanagh.
McGregor has recently been enjoying his luxurious and extravagant lifestyle, which has been brought about by his successful fighting career and other lucrative projects. Many people inside the UFC have questioned McGregor's desire to return after earning a huge wealth from the promotion.
Former rival Max Holloway has admitted he would not blame McGregor if he elected to retire from fighting. “With all this Conor talk and saying whatever, he never committed to coming back,” Holloway told ESPN. “He never once said he’d come back. And rightfully so, he shouldn’t.
“Conor is what everyone wants to be. Everyone wants to get in this fight game, make the money, and then save your chickens. I wouldn’t even blame him if he didn’t want to come back. If you want to come back, that’s his competitive side straight doing it."
