Conor McGregor criticised for drinking and smoking with rapper instead of training

Conor McGregor has been criticised for partying with rapper Chris Brown ahead of his UFC comeback.

The Irishman has been out of action since July 2021 when he broke his leg in a brutal defeat by Dustin Poirier, but has made sure to enjoy himself since and has regularly been seen partying. However it appeared it will be back to fighting business from now, as McGregor announced his UFC return fight against Michael Chandler as part of the promotion's series The Ultimate Fighter.

Since making a fortune from the UFC, McGregor has been partying with several celebrity A-listers and his latest snaps see him posing with rapper Chris Brown. The pair are seen posing together before the Irishman is seen smoking a cigarette alongside other friends on his social media.

A series of eagle-eyed fans have been quick to bundle criticism on McGregor as the latest photos emerged, and one fan wrote: "Shouldn’t you be training and abstaining from drink and smoking?" Another agreed: "Bro stay away from them cigarettes bruh we need a win this year." Another made a prediction for his comeback fight, writing: "Chandler is gonna beat your a** so bad" while another agreed: "Dude Chandler is going to sleep you if you don’t get to it."

Others were less critical with one instead writing: Another was less sympathetic, instead adding: "Conor, as long as you have money your 'friends' are around. no money, no friends. Party less, spend more time with your family! One fan also stuck up for McGregor concluding: "Love it! Imagining the three of you guys in a club is like a wild f***ing movie."

McGregor has just one win in his last four fights and will be eyeing UFC redemption against Chandler who could move up to 170lb for the confirmed contest. The Irishman has piled on weight since taking time away from the octagon to recover, and could eye one final title challenge in a third division.

UFC legend Michael Bisping believes the UFC superstar deserves a title shot if he is to progress beyond the American later this year. “If McGregor gets it done, will we see him fight for the title next? That is a given,” Bisping said on his YouTube channel. “That is 100 percent. Regardless of whatever you think, he’s the biggest star of the sport.

"He’s a former two-weight division champion, and he’s a person that people want to see fight. So if he goes out there and beats Michael Chandler, I’ll be honest: I’ll have no problem with him fighting for the belt."
