Conor McGregor confuses fans with long rambling Instagram post

Conor McGregor fans were left confused after the UFC star posted a long rambling post on social media.

The Notorious spent Saturday night drinking pints and whiskey at his Dublin pub just hours after telling his Instagram followers that he would soon ditch the booze ahead of his return to the octagon.

Sharing a number of photos online, McGregor mentioned Niamh Mulreany, his niece Taylor and his mother Margaret's neighbours before thanking God in a bizarre post.

He said: "One half of the Dubai 2 in the house Saturday night but we are no 2, @blake__nm_! Uimhir a haon We celebrate Freedom here at The Black Forge Inn. Freedom and Justice! Great to see Niamh in enjoying her Saturday night. My Roofer O brien roofing also in done a great job on my roof it is now a full on bunker, like no other.

"A blacked out bunker. 60 plus staff. The Black Forge Inn, Dublin Twelve. Stawl it. Food and drinks and sparkling 24/7 365. Sound system blow your nickers off.

A number of McGregor's Instagram followers were left scratching their heads after reading the post.

One said: "No f***ing idea what he said."

Another commented: "Whatt?"

Someone else posted: "I bet he wrote this out last night but decided to save it to see if he felt the same way in the morning before posting it. Clearly the whiskey hasn’t worn off yet it still makes sense to him to share this."

McGregor is expected to return to the octagon this summer, but his potential opponents have slowly but surely been themselves matched up with lightweight champion Charles Oliveira taking on Justin Gaethje in May.

And contenders Michael Chandler and Tony Ferguson are also expected to meet in the coming months.

McGregor could fight the winner of that fight - or take on long-time rival Nate Diaz in their long-awaited trilogy bout.

"I think so, yeah," UFC president Dana White told TMZ when he was asked if McGregor will return in 2022.

"He’s doing all the right things with his leg. I’m hoping he can come back this summer."
