UFC legend Conor McGregor has demanded Eddie Hearn puts together a mixed martial arts fight with boxing icon Carl Froch after another Twitter spat between the pair.
McGregor and Froch are two of the biggest stars in their respective sports of MMA and boxing, and have had a number of verbal back-and-forth battles over the last few years. The boxer has taken issue with McGregor and vice versa, and now it appears that a fight between the two could be possible.
After Froch mentioned on his podcast that he would happily get in the cage for a rare crossover fight with the Irishman, McGregor took to social media to demand that Hearn make it happen. The former world champion boxer retired atop the super-middleweight division back in 2014, as McGregors rise was beginning, but has stayed in shape and frequently toys with the idea of a comeback.
Asked on an episode of his Froch on Fighting show with George Groves who would win between McGregor and Jake Paul, the former champion joked that "neither of them can box". "I’m too big, too strong for both of them. Seriously, Jake Paul, I’d only need one arm for Jake Paul. Conor McGregor might give me a few small problems, but he’s too small. I wouldn’t train much for either of them.
“If I’m fighting Conor McGregor in the cage, I’d train harder, because I’d fight Conor McGregor in the cage. I could be getting myself in trouble here or into a position I can’t wiggle out of, but I think I’d take him on in the cage. Is that ridiculous? Is that wrong? I'd take him on in the cage, he’s too small.”

McGregor then hit back at a quote from the show that had been tweeted, telling Hearn "get this signed up lad," after sending a crying laughing emoji. It isn't the first time that there has been needle between the duo, with the Irishman previously taking aim at Froch after an interview he had done saying that he couldn't punch "the skin off a rice pudding".
"That Froch tick, little scrawny pencil neck," McGregor wrote in one of his infamous 'tweet-and-delete sprees last year. "I’ll grab his head and twist it clean off at a oner with my bare hands. Little wally of a thing. I’ll slap you around you little toffee nose tosspot."
Froch, who fought at 168lb, which is similar to the 170lb welterweight MMA limit that McGregor will now be hitting, fired back, responding: "Who is this mouthy little pr*** talking to? I will drag you outside with that wispy beard & show you how the big boys do it!!"
