Conor Coady keeps his cool over Liverpool question as Bryan Oviedo message sent

Your morning Everton headlines on Monday, November 28.

'It’s so poor from him' - Conor Coady shuts down 'daft' Jordan Henderson question with blunt response

Conor Coady has shut down a 'daft' Jordan Henderson question about Liverpool by reaffirming his commitment to Everton.

Coady joined Everton from Wolves during the summer transfer window. The deal can be made permanent for an initial £4.5million next year.

However, the centre-back is a graduate of Liverpool’s Academy system, having started his playing career at Anfield. Coady was twice on Liverpool's bench in the 2010/11 season before making his first-team debut under Brendan Rodgers in a 1-0 defeat to Anzhi Makhachkala in Russia in November 2012.

Coady eventually left Liverpool on a permanent basis during the 2014 summer transfer window, joining Huddersfield Town. However, the 29-year-old remained a Red in the years that followed.

Speaking back in September, Coady spoke of his frustration at being asked about his Liverpool past, but that didn’t stop Henderson asking whether the defender now sees himself as a 'blue or red' during an Lions’ Den episode.

“Conor, we are all England here,” Henderson said laughing. “But what I really want to know is. Are you blue or red?”

Bryan Oviedo sends touching Everton message after Costa Rica World Cup win

Bryan Oviedo has sent a touching message to Everton supporters after Costa Rica’s World Cup victory over Japan.

Keysher Fuller's late goal earned Costa Rica a smash-and-grab Group E victory on Sunday. The win came just days after Luis Fernando Suarez’s side were hammered by Spain.

Oviedo started the game for Costa Rica, and he was cheered on by a couple of Everton supporters in attendance at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium. And after a photo appeared of the pair online following the game, the full-back couldn’t help but send a message of thanks to Blues fans.

He wrote: “Thank you Toffees for all the love and support I receive from you. Impossible not to keep all of you in my heart! Once a Blue, Always a Blue!”
