Conor Benn Next Fight: Will 'The Destroyer' Fight Chris Eubank Jr?

Although no official announcement has been made regarding a fight date, the Conor Benn next fight could be just around the corner. ‘The Destroyer’ has officially been cleared by the National Anti-Doping Panel and the British Boxing Board of Control has lifted his provisional suspension.

Conor Benn Next Fight: Will ‘The Destroyer’ Fight Chris Eubank Jr Next?

It’s fair to say that boxing fans have various contrasting opinions when it comes to Conor Benn. Some believe he is innocent and never took performance enhancing drugs, others don’t believe Benn’s sentiments at all and are adamant he cheated.

No matter which side of the fence you fall on when it comes to Conor Benn, one thing that cannot be denied is the fact he is a huge name. Outside of Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury and Chris Eubank Jr, it could be argued that Conor Benn is the next biggest name in British boxing. Period.

With that being said, the Conor Benn next fight and who he may face in 2025 is a hot topic of conversation. Now that his provisional suspension has been lifted after a two-year battle with UKAD (UK Anti-Doping) and the BBBoC (British Boxing Board of Control), Benn insists that he has been ‘cleared of any wrongdoing’ and is free to fight.

Benn’s promoter Eddie Hearn has previously expressed his desire to stage the Conor Benn vs Chris Eubank Jr fight, and it seems 2025 could be the year it finally happens. The fight was of course days away from happening back in October 2022, but was cancelled due to Benn’s two failed tests, testing positive for Clomifene.

Two years later, it seems the fight could get made for the second time. Fingers crossed this time boxing fans actually see the fight, perhaps in summer 2025 at Wembley Stadium.

However, Benn himself will be confident of stopping Chris Eubank Jr. Both men clearly want the fight, and there is a lot of money to be made in it. Fingers crossed Conor Benn’s next fight is indeed against ‘Next Gen’.

If The Eubank Jr Fight Doesn’t Materialise, Could Conor Benn Fight For A World Title In 2025?

If the Chris Eubank Jr bout doesn’t materialise for the Conor Benn next fight, there are of course plenty of other options for the 28-year-old.

Benn is ranked highly with a few of the governing bodies at welterweight. This means that he has a strong case to put his name forward to challenge for a world title. He may even be called as a mandatory for one of these belts in the not too distant future.

Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis currently holds the IBF Title at 147-pounds – a fighter also promoted by Matchroom Boxing. This fight would be easy to make given they both fight from the same stable, making it a real possibility for 2025.

The best UK boxing betting sites would likely price ‘The Destroyer’ as an fairly big underdog against ‘Boots’ or any of the welterweight world champions. However, Benn is evidently full of self belief and would be confident of beating any of the belt holders at welterweight.

Another option for the Conor Benn next fight could be names such as Errol Spence Jr, Gervonta Davis or even Devin Haney. These fights seem highly unlikely, but Benn has called each of them out on social media recently (see below X post).

Time will tell who Conor Benn’s next fight will be against in 2025. One thing is for certain, it is sure to be a colossal fight regardless of who is in the opposite corner.
