Connor Goldson returns to Rangers squad for Aberdeen as Michael Beale reveals fresh injury concern

Michael Beale has revealed Connor Goldson WILL be in the Rangers squad for Aberdeen as he provided a timeline update on the return of Borna Barisic and a fresh injury concern.

The Light Blues full-back is currently back in Croatia celebrating after his country finished third at the World Cup. Thousands of fans lined the streets as the defender and Celtic rival Josip Juranovic soaked up the wild scenes after picking up bronze medals following Saturday's 2-1 win over Morocco. It means the Ibrox men will be without the left-back - but he should return for Motherwell.

Steven Davis has been sent for a scan on a small injury and is the only fresh concern ahead of Pittodrie. Antonio Colak misses out once again meaning another chance for Alfredo Morelos to impress and lay down a marker to his new boss. The major boost is the return of Goldson to the fold with Ben Davies also making his return on Thursday night in the final stages. It means Rangers' defence options have increased dramatically with Leon King thrown in the deep end this season. He missed the win over Hibs with James Sands and John Lundstram paired in the heart of the defence.

Beale told the media: "Borna [Barisic] is back in Croatia, we hope to have him back for the Motherwell game.

[Steven]Davis is away for a scan for a small injury, he is the only fresh injury.

"Connor Goldson will come back into the squad tomorrow.

"Connor is a strong voice, he was all you could hear in the games behind closed doors! When you have a player so consistent it rocks the squad when they are missing.

[Antonio] Colak is not available, he will be on Friday. We need to continue our second-half performance into the start of Tuesday's matches.

"Everyone is aware of the defenders we have been missing in recent weeks. I am happy to say I will have centre-backs in the team tomorrow night."
