Connor Ball and Kye Whyte exit Dancing On Ice in double elimination as fans slam 'fix'

Connor Ball and Kye Whyte have been booted off Dancing On Ice tonight after a tense skate-off in the semi-final of the competition.

The pair exited the show this evening, as the four judges - Ashley Banjo, Oti Mabuse, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean - chose to save Kimberly Wyatt.

Meanwhile, Regan Gascoigne and Brendan Cole skated straight into the final of the ITV celebrity competition.

However, as the votes were announced ITV fans took to Twitter to protest the decision, slamming it as a "fix".

One wrote: "How are these votes accurate, surely it’s a fix"

Another tweetd: "This show is such a fix, #TeamConnor has been trending every week yet Brendan continues to still get through? Who is voting for Brendan????"

A third wrote: "How on earth do you judge this… well they already know who’s gone through Phil!"

In the semi-final tonight, the remaining celebs performed two skates in the hopes of making it through to the next stage of the competition.

Olympic BMX silver medallist Kye Whyte was up against former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt, ex-Strictly Come Dancing professional Brendan Cole, The Vamps guitarist Connor Ball and trained dancer Regan Gascoigne in the semi-final of the ITV show.

This comes as the show was thrown into disarray on Sunday after co-host Holly Willoughby tested positive for Covid-19.

Phillip Schofield manned the ice skating competition alone as the ITV show entered its semi-finals.

While Holly was unable to host the show tonight alongside Phillip, Dancing on Ice has confirmed she will make a return for the live final in two weeks.

A spokesperson for Dancing on Ice said: “Unfortunately, Holly Willoughby is unable to host tonight's show after testing positive for Covid-19. We look forward to Holly returning for the Dancing on Ice Live Final.”

Co-presenter Phillip shared a snap of the two together on his Instagram ahead of the show and wrote: "Gutted that my mate won't be with me on Dancing on Ice tonight. Get well soon darlin."

Oti Mabuse said: “It was such a beautiful performance you gave.” (ITV)

It is the second time this series that Dancing on Ice has been thrown into chaos following a positive coronavirus test, after Phillip was forced to miss the ITV skating show earlier in the run.

The 59-year-old also missed a number of This Morning shows, with fellow presenter Stephen Mulhern stepping in to replace him on Dancing on Ice.

The Saturday Night Takeaway regular, who is currently recovering after a mystery illness, said Phillip's were “big shoes to fill” as he stepped rink-side along Holly.

“I’m very much looking forward to being back hosting alongside my good friend Holly this weekend. It’s big shoes to fill and I’m wishing Phillip a speedy recovery,” he shared in a statement after The Mirror exclusively revealed he would be Phil's replacement.
