Connecticut Couple's Unique Engagement Photo Shoot At Friendly's Restaurant

Engagement photos taken at Friendly's, their first date spot.

A Connecticut couple recently took their engagement photo shoot to a whole new level by choosing a unique and sentimental location: Friendly's. Michelle Fleming and Michael Ford decided to capture their love story at the place where it all began, the ice cream chain where they had their first date and many subsequent dates.

The couple, who started dating in 2016, wanted their engagement photos to reflect the special bond they share, which blossomed in a Friendly's booth seven years ago. They felt that the nostalgic charm of Friendly's would be the perfect backdrop for their photos, with its retro decor and ambiance evoking childhood memories of enjoying ice cream with loved ones.

During the shoot, Fleming and Ford posed both inside and outside the restaurant, showcasing their love for ice cream by browsing the menu from their booth and sharing a milkshake. The photos focused on the various ice cream offerings at Friendly's, as it was their go-to meal while dating, from Fribbles to the iconic Monster Mash.

One of the standout photos from the shoot captured Ford dipping Fleming for a kiss in front of the Friendly's sign outside, exuding a vintage magazine-like aesthetic. Another favorite shot featured the couple kissing across their booth with a banana split between them, which they used for their save-the-dates.

Family and friends of the couple were delighted by the creative and personalized engagement photo shoot, recognizing the genuine happiness radiating from the photos. Fleming and Ford's relationship began at Western Connecticut State University, where they met through a mutual friend and eventually started dating after a memorable first date over ice cream.

After seven years together, Ford surprised Fleming with a proposal during a weekend trip to Baltimore, where they watched their favorite football team play. The couple is now preparing to tie the knot with a church ceremony followed by a reception at a castle in central Connecticut, complete with an ice cream sundae bar paying tribute to their beloved Friendly's.
