David Hawkshaw's impressive form since joining Connacht from Leinster has earned him a new two year deal.
Hawkshaw, 23, was among the group of players who made the move west last summer and he has been an excellent signing for Connacht, playing at both out-half and inside centre.
The former Ireland under-20 skipper - he led them to the Grand Slam in 2019 - has scored three tries in 11 appearances for the province since joining.
Dubliner Hawkshaw said: "I’ve loved every minute of my time here and I want to thank all the coaches for giving me that opportunity.
"I’m looking forward to the years ahead and hope to help the club go from strength to strength in any possible way."
Connacht's director of coaching Andy Friend explained why holding onto Hawkshaw was a priority for the province.
Friend commented: "David is a great example of a player who was brave enough to move west and is now making every post a winner.
"He’s had a huge impact both on and off the field and gives us further options at both fly-half and inside-centre.
"I’m really excited that he’s chosen to extend his tenure at the club and I know that his best rugby is ahead of him."
