Congressman Jim Jordan Highlights Double Standard In Recent Hearing

Jim Jordan U.S. House of Representatives meet to pick Speaker of the House at the U.S. Capitol in Washington

Congressman Jim Jordan raised concerns today during a hearing regarding the handling of documents by various political figures, including Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and former President Donald Trump. Jordan highlighted what he perceived as a double standard in the treatment of these individuals by law enforcement agencies.

He pointed out the differences in how Secretary Clinton's actions were characterized as 'careless behavior' by former FBI Director James Comey, yet no prosecution was pursued. In contrast, he criticized the treatment of President Trump for alleged lack of cooperation.

Jordan emphasized the distinction in behavior post-recognition of possessing documents between Biden, who cooperated with investigators, and Trump, who he suggested did not receive fair treatment.

He also questioned the appointment of special counsel Robert Hur by Attorney General Merrick Garland, noting that Hur's findings did not lead to prosecution despite concerns about Biden's memory issues.

Jordan expressed dissatisfaction with the conclusion of the special counsel's report and called for the release of audio tapes and transcripts of all witnesses interviewed during the investigation.

Furthermore, Jordan alleged that the White House attempted to influence the report by sending letters to the attorney general and associate deputy attorney general, seeking changes to sections referencing Biden's mental state.

Overall, Jordan raised concerns about what he perceived as a double standard in the treatment of political figures by the Justice Department and called for transparency in the handling of the investigation.
