Over 100 congressional lawmakers have united in a bipartisan effort to tackle government waste through the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), spearheaded by entrepreneur Elon Musk. The Congressional DOGE Caucus was established following President Donald Trump's appointment of Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to identify areas for streamlining the federal bureaucracy.
Although Musk now leads the initiative solo, it has garnered criticism from Democratic lawmakers who question his influence as an unelected figure without prior government experience. Despite this, the House remains committed to the cause, with over 100 members, representing more than one-fifth of House lawmakers, actively participating in the DOGE Caucus.

The caucus, under the leadership of Reps. Aaron Bean, Pete Sessions, and Blake Moore, is focusing on legislative measures to reduce government spending and advance key items on the Trump administration's agenda. Working groups have been established to target specific areas for waste reduction, including retirement, safety nets, defense, and infrastructure.
With two meetings already held, the caucus has received substantial interest beyond Washington, D.C., with over 40,000 individuals reaching out to share ideas on cutting waste, fraud, and abuse. Members have been encouraged to introduce bills aimed at achieving these objectives, further emphasizing the commitment to enhancing government efficiency.
