Congress to stage protest outside Bommai’s residence

The Opposition Congress has decided to stage a protest outside the residence of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai here at 10 a.m. on Thursday to expose “40% commission” in the BJP Government in Karnataka.

Bengaluru City MLAs and senior leaders of the party would gherao the Chief Minister on Racecourse Road here, KPCC president D.K. Shivakumar told presspersons.

Eight teams

The party would form eight teams and launch State-wide protests for the next five days in all districts against the issue of “40% commission” in the execution of development works. “The Congress will appeal to the people to throw out this BJP Government in the coming elections,” Mr. Shivakumar said.

AICC general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala said the police were forced to lodge an FIR against Minister K.S. Eshwarappa in the case of suicide by a civil contractor who had made corruption charges by “deliberately omitting the clauses under the Prevention of Corruption Act, which is the foundation of this murder.”
