CHANDIGARH: Punjab leader of opposition Partap Singh Bajwa on Thursday said that the Congress would soon launch a campaign in the state against the Aam Aadmi Party government with the slogan "AAP Hatao, Punjab Bachao".
Bajwa said that, already a large number of banners and posters had come up in Delhi saying "Kejriwal Hatao, Delhi Bachao". The slogans were also saying "Kejriwal, the dictator", he said.
"This is a clear indication that there is a large section of people in Delhi who do not want Kejriwal to continue as the chief minister. All his claims of making a good healthcare system and education system in the national capital over the years have been continuously proving to be contradictory and hollow. Mere propaganda on the basis of advertisements worth crores of rupees for self and party’s promotion cannot fool the people of Delhi as well as of Punjab'," said Bajwa.
Kejriwal’s two senior cabinet ministers are already cooling their heels in Tihar jail for their alleged involvement in corruption. The CBI and ED had already slapped cases against the two former ministers, Bajwa said.
Bajwa said Bhagwant Mann, too, was closely following the footsteps of his political mentor and master.
"Even a kid in Punjab knows that the law and order situation has gone from bad to worse. Dreaded gangsters are free to give interviews from jail premises and from the jail these gangsters are seen making ominous threats to movie stars and threatening to eliminate them," he added.
The Punjab and Haryana high court’s observations on the law and order situation in the state on the failure of the government to catch Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh highlighted the poor state of affairs. In fact it was only through the high court that the people of Punjab came to know that the National Security Act (NSA) was slapped against Amritpal on March 18.
"This is why the high court said if Amritpal was such a threat to national security, why he was not apprehended by the 80,000-strong police force so far?", asked Bajwa.
