A popular restaurant has announced it will be "permanently closed" from today.
The Chinese Buffet has restaurants across the country but the Speke branch was the first venue in Liverpool, opening in 2018. Located at the old airport, the building once again became a hive of activity and was popular amongst families.
TCB Unlimited Dining Experience began a unique service following the pandemic as robots were used to deliver dishes to customers ordered via the bespoke app. The restaurant moved away from its traditional buffet style service to remove the repetitive task of making hundreds of journeys to and from the kitchens for staff.

But this week, many people were left upset after they found out the Speke restaurant was "closing for good". Customers received a text on Monday evening from TCB Unlimited Dining informing them of the decision, for some of whom came "out of the blue".
It read: "TCB UNLIMITED DINING. We're letting you know, from Tuesday January 3, TCB Liverpool will be permanently closed. As a valued customer, we'd like to offer you two for one dining at our St Helens restaurant in January."
Many people took to social media to express their upset with discussions of a "new restaurant" rife. Some people suggested it should have been a drive-thru Chinese, while others said they would like to see a Steakhouse.
The TCB Liverpool Dining Experience is listed as permanently closed on Facebook and Google. Their last social media post was back in December which read: "Book Now for New Year! We are open New Years Eve and New Years Day!
"Enjoy an ALL YOU CAN EAT experience. (Please note we are closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day to give our staff a well earned festive break)."
There is no official confirmation of what could replace the restaurant, but planning application was put forward to configure the current car park to provide for a drive-thru lane, sparking suggestions on social media it could be a "Burger King". Some people said they would like to see the return of Damon's.
Before the Chinese Buffet took over, many will have fond memories of the former Damon's which first opened back in 1992. Known for its American-themed menu, customers could choose from ribs, burgers, seafood dishes and more.
