The Cleveland Browns hold the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NFL draft, and NFL insiders sit on both sides of what they will do with it in April.
Will they draft one of Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders or Miami’s Cam Ward with it or will they sell it off to the highest bidder? The Athletic’s Diana Russini went on ESPN on the Dan LeBatard show today and stated emphatically that the team will use the pick on a quarterback.
Dianna Russini on the Browns’ draft plans on @LeBatardShow: “They’re going quarterback. They see what we see. It’s just not a mystery. This is not like they’re psyched about Deshaun Watson’s ability, leadership, play. They know this isn’t great.” pic.twitter.com/9r8uvSZQaS

However, in response to Russini’s report on the ESPN show, I tweeted out that I would be incredibly shocked if the Browns did not make it their priority to trade the pick to the highest bidder.
Another NFL insider, Benjamin Allbright of KOA Denver, responded to the tweet confirming that it is what he thinks the Browns will do as well.

It’s January. The Browns are a tight-lipped organization that does not let leaks out without some other plan behind it. If an insider is speaking definitively like Russini was doing about what their plans are three months from now, there is a purpose to it. And that purpose is likely to drive one of the New York Giants, Las Vegas Raiders, or New York Jets up the board to swap picks with them for one of these quarterbacks.
