Confirmed Chelsea team news vs Brighton: Mason Mount returns, Callum Hudson-Odoi starts

The team news is in from the AMEX Stadium and Thomas Tuchel has once again made changes to his Chelsea starting eleven as they aim to get back to winning ways in the Premier League against Brighton.

Mason Mount, surprisingly left out for the 1-0 defeat to Man City at the weekend, is back in the starting lineup at the expense of Christian Pulisic, who drops down to the substitutes bench.

Two player survives from the front three at the Etihad and one of them is Romelu Lukaku, who leads the line once again for Tuchel's men.

Callum Hudson-Odoi is back in from the start after coming off the bench against Man City and he replaces Christian Pulisic. Hakim Ziyech is also handed another start despite an underwhelming appearance against City.

Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger are the centre halves for Tuchel's side, with Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso both starting too. Hudson-Odoi could be deployed as a right wing-back.

N'Golo Kante starts for a second time in four days in the heart of the Blues midfield alongside Jorginho, with Mateo Kovacic named among the substitutes this evening.

Kepa continues in goal for the Blues with Edouard Mendy away at the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal.

The visitors to the AMEX are without the injured Reece James, Ben Chilwell and Trevoh Chalobah, while Andreas Christensen is still out having tested positive for Covid-19 prior to the defeat to City.

Chelsea: Kepa; Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Silva, Hudson-Odoi, Alonso; Kante, Jorginho; Mount, Ziyech Lukaku.
