As part of "The Match Bangkok Century Cup 2022" between Manchester United and Liverpool, Jackson Wang will take the stage for the Red World Opening Live "Jackson Wang -- Magic Man" at Rajamangala Stadium on Tuesday from 6-7pm.

The game will be broadcast live into 165 countries and on two platforms -- AIS Play and SF Cinema. This is the first occasion in Asia where sports and music are combined, similar to the Super Bowl and the World Cup.

"The opening performance by Jackson Wang is another piece to this puzzle to make this event complete. A special guest will be present to surprise the crowd. I'm really excited. To build confidence, I think that our country is prepared for all aspects of marketing, sporting and entertainment activities," said Vinij Lertratanachai, CEO of the Fresh Air Festival.

"We will play as a host to welcome tourists together. The world will learn more about Thailand thanks to this event. Despite being a small nation, Thailand has the capacity to stage events of this scale."

Wang was raised in Hong Kong and took up fencing at the age of 10. As a member of the Hong Kong national fencing squad, he won multiple awards including the 2011 Asian Junior and Cadet Fencing Championship. While preparing for the 2012 London Olympics, he shifted to the entertainment industry and relocated to South Korea for training, before making his debut in the famous K-pop boy band GOT7 in 2014.

To conduct business in music and artist management, he founded his own record label in 2017 called Team Wang. In 2020, he launched Team Wang Design, which has worked with renowned design companies across the world including Fendi. He created history this year when he performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April as the first Chinese musician.

"Three years have passed since my visit, and I really miss Thai fans. This is the first time in Thailand to perform as a solo artist and share my own songs with them. They've supported me since the first day and that's why I want to get better and better to make them proud. I will perform all songs from my new album Magic Man before its release," Wang said.

"Every day, I just think about how I can get better for my supporters. I'm still not perfect and I've been on a journey, but they still support me no matter what and I really appreciate that. I'm not a role model, but just a person who shares my story as an entertainer. When they're having a hard time in a regular day, the thing that I can do the most is to put a smile on a face for a minute. I do everything to entertain my audiences."
