Concerns grow for pensioner with Celtic tattoo who vanished in Glasgow

Police are growing "increasingly concerned" for a pensioner missing from Glasgow who was last seen entering Central Station

Edward O'Neill, 72, travelled from Eastburn Road in Balornock, in the north of the city, at around 11.30am on Tuesday, July 11, before being spotted at the Gordon Street entrance of the train station around 1.10pm.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen him get on a train and where he may have been heading. Likewise, if he left the station.

Edward is described as around 5ft 6ins, bald and of slim build. He has a Glasgow Celtic badge tattoo on one arm.

When seen at the station he was wearing dark coloured jeans, a black jacket with a fur trimmed hood and a black beanie hat. He was carrying a dark hold all bag with red straps.

Sergeant Dean Shankie said: “Concerns are growing for Edward’s welfare and we are keen to find him to make sure he is safe and well.

“We are asking anyone who was at Glasgow Central Station yesterday around lunchtime to think back and let us know if they may have seen Edward.

“If you know where he might be or have seen him elsewhere then please also get in touch.”

Anyone who can help should call Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference number 2904 of Tuesday, 11 July, 2023.
