Concern grows for Scots OAP who vanished in Borders town sparking urgent police search

An urgent police search has been launched for a pensioner who has gone missing from Peebles in the Scottish Borders. Kenneth Bareham, 86, was last seen in the The Loanings area of the town at around 10am on Friday, December 23.

Officers say they are growing concerned for his well-being after he failed to make contact with worried friends and family. Kenneth is described as being 5ft 7, of a medium build, with grey hair at the side of his head and bald on top with a grey beard.

He is believed to be wearing a brown or beige coloured jacket, dark trousers, dark grey flat cap and dark shoes. While he lives in Peebles, he has connections to the Edinburgh area.

Inspector David Robertson said: “Along with Kenneth’s family and friends, we are growing increasingly concerned for his wellbeing and are appealing for anyone who may have seen him to please come forward.

“If you can assist our efforts to trace him, please call police on 101, quoting incident 3084 of 23 December 2022.
