Concern grows for missing Scot who vanished after leaving hospital in early hours

Police say they are growing concerned for the welfare of a man who vanished from a hospital in the early hours of the morning.

Douglas Johnstone was last seen leaving Wishaw General Hospital in North Lanarkshire at around 2am on Sunday March 20, but he has failed to make contact since.

The 61-year-old is described as being white, 5ft 8in tall with short, greying hair.

He was wearing a red, white and blue gilet, a navy jumper, blue jeans with black and white Adidas trainers.

Investigators from Police Scotland believe he may have travelled to High Blantyre - but Douglas also has links to Larkhall.

A force spokesperson said: "Anyone who may have seen Douglas since this time, or who has any information which could be relevant, is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting 0498 of 20 March 2022."
