'Completed' - Djed Spence moves step closer to £12.5m Tottenham transfer

Djed Spence has taken a step closer to securing his move to Tottenham Hotspur after completing his medical.

The 21-year-old was linked with a return to the Reds early on in the summer transfer window, but now looks set to complete a move to Premier League rivals Spurs.

Spence played a starring role in Forest's promotion to the Premier League last season after joining on loan from Middlesbrough. The wing-back made 46 appearances as the Reds defeated Huddersfield Town in the Championship play-off final, scoring three and producing a further five assists.

Fabrizio Romano has today (July 15) reported that Spence has 'completed' his medical to complete his move to Antonio Conte's side in London. The Middlesbrough man will sign a 'long-term contract' at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with the final details and official contracts the final hurdles in the conclusion of the transfer.

The England under-21 international will reportedly cost the North London side £12.5m plus add-ons. Spence will return to the City Ground at the end of August when Spurs travel Trentside in Forest's second home match of the season.
