Compensation 'worth more than £1m' sought from BDO by car care giant

Compensation of more than £1m is being sought by the company behind the T-Cut and CarPlan vehicle care brands for damages it said were caused by delays to its audit, according to reports.

Rochdale-headquartered Tetrosyl sent a formal complaint to the senior partner of its audit firm BDO last week, The Times said.

It has been reported that a nine-month wait beyond the deadline to file its accounts led to Tetrosyl’s directors facing criminal proceedings from Companies House.

It employs more than 1,100 people and turnover over £207m in the 15 months to March 31, 2020.

When contacted by BusinessLive, a BDO spokesperson said: "Due to reasons of confidentiality, we are unable to comment on client matters."

Tetrosyl has also been contacted for comment.

The group's brands also include Carlube, Triplewax and Stag Tools.
