Company looking to support local businesses in Nottinghamshire 'incubation hub' opens

A company looking to support local businesses in Nottinghamshire's 'incubation hub' has opened. Self-storage firm Storage Giant opened its first Nottinghamshire facility at Teal Park off Colwick Loop Road, between Netherfield and Stoke Bardolph, on Thursday, June 1.

The UK’s largest independent self-storage firm is now offering self-storage and office space for individuals, start-ups and small businesses at the site. The new store has 82,000 sq. ft of lettable space encompassing more than 1,100 self-storage units and 19 flexi-office suites, advertised as ideal for start-ups and small businesses in the area.

The firm's CEO and founder, Simon Williams, said: “We are excited to open our new facility in Nottingham, offering storage and office space to local individuals and businesses. Not only does the new store opening represent a success for Storage Giant’s expansion plans, but it also highlights Nottinghamshire’s continued growth and development as an incubation hub for small businesses."

The new facility has directly created four local jobs with customer service and sales roles available. Storage Giant has stated additional jobs will be created through its office space and commercial storage units.

Mr Williams added: “We are particularly proud to provide new office spaces for SMEs as they are the beating heart of the British economy, and as flexible working remains popular, we hope to see many more businesses opening satellite sites and allowing team members to work near home in Nottingham."

The new site is Stock Giant's first in the county, the sixth in the Midlands and the eighth store in England since 2016. The business also has spaces in nearby Leicester and further afield in Bicester, Bristol and Cardiff.

Teal Park is next to the vast new Rivendell housing development, where 807 houses are eventually planned to be built, with the development having been described as a 'mini-city'. As well as the hundreds of homes already built, a primary school and care home are already operating at the site.

A new Aldi store was also opened in the area back in August. The Rivendell development was named as a tribute to the Lord of the Rings author J.R.R. Tolkien.
