Company asked someone to sign a ‘sweat pledge’ and people think it’s a major red flag

A company reportedly asked an employee to sign a “s.w.e.a.t pledge” committing to work standards, and people are finding it pretty bizarre.

Posting on Reddit, a man shared an image of the contract which he said his wife was made to sign which apparently stands for “skill and work ethic aren’t taboo”.

The contract has 13 points and things employees are expected to do include being “grateful” and acting like - by working there - they have “won the greatest lottery of all time”.

Another guideline they have to follow is that “my safety is my responsibility” and they must not be lazy.

“Whining and complaining” are seen as “the most annoying sounds in the world”, according to the workplace, and people in the office must “stay in their lane”.

Employees are expected to accept that “the world is not fair”, if they want to work at the company and they must not use their mobile phones there.

Responding to the contract, people said the company sounded alarming.

“If they made me sign this, I’d immediately start trying to find something else for money,” one person said.

“Anybody pulling this s**t is an awful employer. Leave immediately,” another said.

A third commented: “This is a massive red flag.”

While a fourth remarked: “This is a cult”.

Sounds like an HR nightmare on every level.
